Family Practice Anesthetists
Ontario’s Anesthesiologists’ members include Family Practice Anesthetists (FP-As), skilled physicians who are qualified in Family Medicine and have completed an additional year of training in anesthesia. Our FP-A Subcommittee serves to support and represent Ontario FP-A members in a broad range of advocacy and practice related issues.

As part of the 69th Annual Ontario Anesthesia Meeting, Ontario’s Anesthesiologists held its annual FP-A Luncheon on September 28, 2024 at the Marriott Downtown at CF Toronto Eaton Centre. This meeting brought together FP-As from across Ontario and facilitated discussion around issues specific to care provided by FP-As. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to developing solutions to best serve patients. We look forward to seeing you again at our 2025 FP-A Luncheon, to be held during the 70th Annual Ontario Anesthesia Meeting, September 26-28, 2025 at The Westin Ottawa!.
