Ontario’s Anesthesiologists is proud to sponsor the Leadership Development Grant Program, recognizing and supporting the development of future leaders in anesthesiology. Our goal is to cultivate visible, influential, and inspiring anesthesia leaders within Ontario’s health system.
Through this program, Ontario’s Anesthesiologists aims to:
Increase the number of anesthesiologists in leadership positions.
Raise awareness of our specialty’s value in the health system.
Champion equity and diversity.

Objectives of the Program
Ontario’s Anesthesiologists’ Leadership Program aims to enhance the profile and influence of anesthesiology across the province by:
Developing future leaders for local, provincial, and national anesthesia-related roles.
Encouraging anesthesiologists to pursue non-traditional leadership opportunities.
Cultivating the next generation of leaders through the resident leadership program.
Eligibility & Application
This program is designed with broad inclusion criteria to evaluate applicants fairly. Each year, financial leadership support will be available. Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Applicants must be permanent residents of Ontario.
Applicants must be active voluntary dues-paying members in Ontario’s Anesthesiologists
Applicants must submit the request before completing the program or course. Retroactive consideration will not be an option.
Eligible activities include skill and knowledge development across the following domains: communication, education, administration, quality improvement, health policy, health law, project management, wellness, EDIA, and others. Preference will be given to accredited courses from recognized academic institutions. Courses/Program selections can be pre-approved by the selection committee.

Value and Duration of the Awards
Up to $5,000 CAD, lifetime maximum.
May be applied towards tuition or course expenses
Travel
Ontario's Anesthesiologists' policy allows up to $1,500 out of a $5,000 individual scholarship or award to be used towards accommodation and transportation. Only economy class fares by the most direct and economical routing will qualify. To obtain a full reimbursement, all receipts must be provided.
Disbursement of Grant
Successful applicants will receive 50% of the award at course commencement and the remaining 50% upon submission of a Summation Report.
The Summation Report must be submitted within 60 days of course completion and should include:
An overview of the event/course.
Key learnings.
Impact on current or future leadership roles.
Additional relevant insights.
Failure to submit the report within the deadline will result in forfeiture of the remaining award.
