Family Practice Anesthetists

Ontario’s Anesthesiologists’ members include Family Practice Anesthetists (FP-As), skilled physicians who are qualified in Family Medicine and have completed an additional year of training in anesthesia. Our FP-A Subcommittee serves to support and represent Ontario FP-A members in a broad range of advocacy and practice related issues.

Annual FP-A Luncheon

Thank you to all of our members who attended our 2025 FP-A Luncheon, held on September 27, 2025, in Ottawa! This hour-long lunch connects family practice anesthetists from across Ontario to facilitate discussion around issues specific to the care FP-As provide and develop solutions to best serve patients. Save the date for the 2026 FP-A Luncheon to be held during our Ontario Anesthesia Meeting, November 6-8, 2026, at the Marriott Downtown at CF Toronto Eaton Centre in Toronto, Ontario!

Tell the OMA you’re an FP-A! To identify as an FP-A:

1. Log into your OMA My Account and go to "Credentials”

2. Select "Add another certification” -> Type: "College of Family Physicians" -> “CCFP(FPA)”

3. If you require assistance, please contact the OMA at info@oma.org or 1-800-268-7215
