Volunteer Opportunity: Conference Chair

Ontario’s Anesthesiologists is seeking an anesthesiologist to lead our Ontario Anesthesia Meeting Planning Committee as the Conference Chair for a five-year term starting in October 2025.

Every year, the Ontario Anesthesia Meeting offers an engaging academic program focused on current and clinically relevant topics. Our goal is to feature exceptional speakers from across Ontario who will enhance the quality of anesthesia care. We are in the process of securing a venue for the 2026 Ontario Anesthesia Meeting, which is scheduled to take place in the Greater Toronto Area from November 6 to 8, 2026.

The core role of the Ontario Anesthesia Meeting (OAM) Conference Chair is to support and assist all members of the OAM Planning Committee. The Conference Chair’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Chairing regular meetings of the OAM Scientific Planning Committee; 

• Providing input and guidance on the work; 

• Help build relationships and solicit new conference sponsors;

• Attend and actively engage during the Ontario Anesthesia Meeting.

The OMA Conference Director may also request assistance from the Conference Chair with reaching out to sponsors who are unresponsive.  

The Conference Chair will lead regular Zoom meetings (approximately every other month) and activities outside of meetings. The time commitment will increase closer to the event.
